Student participation in part-time art education

The Merksem Academy , also known as the first Children's Rights Academy in Belgium, took on the challenge of developing a trajectory on children's rights in part-time art education. Isn't that difficult if you only see your students for an hour a week? In Merksem they prove that it is possible. In this article you will get an insight from general director Lin van Mierlo, director of the performing arts Luc Borms, policy officer Nathalie Daems, teacher of words Kris Philips and director of visual arts Rebecca De Clerc.

This article is part of the inspirational book on the new decree within part-time art education, with the responsible publisher being the Flemish Government, Department of Education and Training.
