Oblique strategies: Less suggestion
Producer, musician and composer Brian Eno was an important inspiration for David Bowie, Coldplay and U2 among others. He developed a card set Oblique Strategies from 1974. The cards contain bizarre assignments that help musicians to break free from their ingrained patterns. The concept is simple. If you get stuck or need a new impulse, idea, take a card. The assignments push your attention to potentially interesting slopes.
