Koen Mariën and Jan Royackers about the digital jump

It was big news at the end of 2020: our minister announced that education in Flanders would finally make the big leap forward in the field of digitization. The Digisprong, that's what the great offensive was called. Each student has a laptop. Each school receives 510 euros per pupil in secondary education and 290 euros in primary education. An investment of 375 million euros.

But how do you as a school deal with that digital leap? Which device do you buy and how do you ensure that it is used in a pedagogically strong way? We discuss this with Jan Royackers and Koen Mariën. Koen Mariën is pedagogical director of the Rozenberg Campus in Mol. They have been working there for years with their own device for each student. In this episode, Koen takes us through the entire creation process and the considerations your school has to make with a digital turnaround. Jan Royackers is director at Schoolmakers. Schoolmakers guides schools, among other things, in developing a strong vision for digital jumps. A conversation about choices, behavior and school desks that are too small.
