Entry moments and toddler participation: We bridge the gap

In Flanders, children can go to school as soon as they are 2.5 years old, but contact between parents and schools starts about a year and a half before the first day of school. Not only the entry, but also the moments before that are important. Education Center Ghent is therefore actively involved in projects on pre-school participation.

In Ghent, bridge figures in more than forty primary schools and thirteen secondary schools bridge the gap between school, family and neighbourhood. In this podcast, bridge figures such as Cindy Van Kerckvoorde and Fien Verschelde and consultants such as Sarah Devadder tell us how they help lower the threshold to schools.
