Entry moments and toddler participation: We bridge the gap
In Flanders, children can go to school as soon as they are 2.5 years old, but contact between parents and schools starts about a year and a half before the first day of school. Not only the entry, but also the moments before that are important. Education Center Ghent is therefore actively involved in projects on pre-school participation.
In Ghent, bridge figures in more than forty primary schools and thirteen secondary schools bridge the gap between school, family and neighbourhood.
