Cyriel Buysse, The rush plug and Aunts: Teaching idea
Cyriel Buysse (1859-1932) made his debut in 1894 with the sensational naturalistic novella De biesstekker. Over the course of his writing career he evolved towards realism with impressionistic influences and an ironic tone. His psychological novel Tantes from 1924 is a good example of this. The book belongs to the canon of Dutch literature.
