Climate-conscious consumption

Climate-conscious consumption Publisher Lannoo

Climate change is on everyone's lips. The main focus is on the development of a sound climate policy from the government and companies, for example to keep old diesels from cities and plastic bags from supermarkets. But the role of the individual consumer cannot be underestimated.

Karine Van Doorsselaer graduated as an industrial chemistry engineer with a specialization in plastics. In addition to obtaining the additional diploma in Special License in Ecology, she obtained a PhD at the VUB in the Ecology specialization. After four years of working at Exxon Chemical, she switched to education.

Since 1990 she teaches the Masters in Product Development at the University of Antwerp where she teaches materials science and eco design.

She has been involved in the field of ecodesign from the very beginning, whereby the environmental impact of all possible products over their entire life cycle is kept to a minimum.

From her field, she translates to the consumer, whereby knowledge about sustainable and climate-friendly products can help the consumer in a critical way in the purchasing process. These insights and tips are bundled in the climate conscious consumption booklet .

This booklet is for sale in the bookstore or via the Lannoo website.

All proceeds from the sale go to the local environmental association vzw Durme in Lokeren.
