Is your degree worth your time and money?
Two months a year, no social life, no student parties and only sweating and toiling over study books with the goal: a scrap of paper with a stamp from the university - also sometimes called a diploma. In total, it will cost you an average of four years of your life and actually a lot of (study) money. Is it all worth it? Is it really easier to get a job with a diploma? Or do you build up that head start by going to work immediately after high school? Stijn Baert is a labor economist at Ghent University and looked into it for us.
