How do we break open our playgrounds?

When we start adding up how much of our young lives we spend on playgrounds, it dawns on us how central this place is to our development. That is why it is all the more remarkable that this space is so often designed as a bare concrete plain and not the inspiring, educational and adventurous green pool that it could be. Fortunately, a counter-movement has arisen that wants to literally and figuratively break open our playgrounds. On this evening we will talk to teachers, parents, management, school umbrella organizations, designers, municipalities and civil society organizations about what they have learned about playground softening in recent years.

We discuss how each of these actors can initiate softening projects from a different angle and what lessons can be learned from the recently completed softening pilot projects.
