DigCompEdu describes 24 competencies, organized into six areas. The existing DigComp reference framework for digital competencies of citizens was used as a basis for this reference framework, of course adapted specifically for teachers. The focus is not on technical skills. The framework is primarily intended to describe in detail how digital technologies can be used to improve and innovate education and training.
