1943 Stalingrad: In Europe
The Battle of Stalingrad was the first defeat for the German army of Hitler. The Russians are still very proud of this victory and Stalin himself. But many do not remember that Stalin before the war had made with Germany friendship. The history of this battle was rewritten carefully by the propaganda machine of Stalin.
This episode is part of the series " In Europe, " which the VPRO sent out between 2007 and 2009 on TV. This series is an adaptation of the book and is presented by its author Geert Mak.
